Gallo has developed a repertoire with his projects that is a sonic micro-cosmos inspired by the music of Colombia, elsewhere in Latin America and Africa while creating a logic of its own. The instrumentation of clarinet, trombone, piano, and drums in this project called “Horse’s Mouth” alludes to early small jazz formations in New Orleans and elsewhere, imagining a bridge between this art form and the musical traditions from South America.
Horse’s Mouth is:
Ben Goldberg: clarinet
Sam Kulik: trombone
Rodrigo Recabarren: drums
Ricardo Gallo: piano and compositions
